Program Description: Mobile network optimization is key to continuously adjust the network to customers’ expectations on QoS and service levels. TEP introduced the latest technologies and in the meantime, introduced multi-layered networks (frequency); it is essential to adopt the latest optimization techniques and to sustain across processes. This course aims to give network planning and optimization principles for GSM, UMTS, and LTE radio access technologies. Cloud Computing and Virtualization Essentials (CCVE):

Workshop Description: DC power system consists of rectifiers, batteries, solar systems, controllers, and other components.  DC power products mainly include a large power supply for central offices, transmission equipment rooms and data centers, indoor power supply for base stations, outdoor power supply, embedded power supply, Pad power supply, and wall-mounted power supply for small cells and small stations.

This training will enable trainees to be able to efficiently monitor, configure, maintain and troubleshoot DC power system components. Moreover, it will provide safety procedures in handling DC power systems.

Program Description: Mobile QoS assessment and optimization is a key practice for quality assurance and customer satisfaction. E2E field measurement using a specialized field data collection and analysis tool is one of the means of performing a network quality assessment.

This course, therefore, focuses on building working knowledge on one of these tools, the Nemo and Actix tools, on the basic and advanced features of the tools, and on their application to solve practical problems.

Ericsson RAN Product Training (RAN_PRD_E):

Program Description: The GSM and WCDMA include GSM RAN and WCDMA RAN RBS, BSC,  RNC, OSS – RC nodes,  their architecture, and their functionalities.  By taking this training the trainees will have profound knowledge and skill of the hardware, software, and performance management on GSM and WCDMA network nodes. This course aims to give an overview of Radio network access equipment and OSS platform.  Description: The IMS platform provides greater flexibility and extensibility for the telecommunication industry by converging diversified services from different networks while reducing CAPEX and OPEX for the operator. This training provides a good understanding of the IMS technology, architecture and protocols which helps ethio telecom engineers to know proactively about IMS & VoLTE technologies and prepare them for the next steps of the ongoing IMS platform deployment program.

The main driver for the choice of IP/Ethernet as transport technology is its ability to combine low cost, simplicity, and high capacity. In order to offer high service quality, several QoS-related requirements are set on the new infrastructure.

Applicable transport network architectures, together with correct mapping of existing traffic and signaling priorities into IP and Ethernet handled service classes are paramount to meet those requirements.

“Get Ready for the Future”

Workshop Description:  The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects accessed through the Internet. These objects contain embedded technology to interact with internal states or the external environment. It is estimated that about 50 billion objects interacting with the physical world by way of sensors be it temperature, movement, frequency, humidity, light, sound, pressure, chemical properties, and many others. These smart digital devices will need to communicate over the Internet infrastructure with the people, collect data using the sensors, and respond to instructions and situations. The world is moving from the Internet of People to the Internet of Things!

This training aims to equip trainees with knowledge of the IP networking fundamentals, L2 switching technology, L3 routers and routing protocols principles, the MPLS technology, MPLS VPN concepts, and introduction to IPv6. Program Description: Mobile networks of today are becoming true multimedia networks, providing telephony, data, and video services to mobile end users and the end-user expectations on the mobile data services, in terms of high quality, lead to tougher requirements on network performance. The evolution of mobile networks from telephony-based circuit-switched services towards packet-based data connectivity introduced many challenges as well. While traditional telephony platforms offer ‘built-in’ guarantees on high voice quality (it is part of the system design), the packet-based (IP) platforms require careful planning, configuration, and tuning to provide acceptable quality.

This course elaborates the mechanisms for Quality of service management in GSM, UMTS, and LTE networks considering different segments of the network (core, bearer, and RAN) and network realization stages (planning, provisioning, monitoring, and optimization) for different services like voice, data, and MVAS.
